A cousin of David Beardmore sent in these digitised slides David was born in 1943 in Sutton Coldfield and died in 2010 in Sutton Coldfield. For many years he lived in Station Road, Sutton Coldfield and the slides were found in this house . He also was a volunteer at Hampton Loade Station with Severn Valley Railway.
These photos were taken at New Street Station, Birmingham on 29th November 1977. They show the naming of British Rail Class 87, 87009 as "City of Birmingham" by Lady Mayoress, Freda Mary Cocks, OBE.
