Wylde Green Juniors Beaten.

Wylde Green Juniors broke their long series of victories on Saturday, when they lost to Oakfields F.C.

Wylde Green, who were playing on their own ground, were unlucky in the first half when G. Shrimpton, who was playing at left back, was so badly hurt that he had to retire. Although one man short, Wylde Green played a gallant game and at half time the score was one all.

On the resumption of play Wylde Green struck a bad patch, and the visitors playing magnificently had scored four more goals when the final whistle blew, thus winning by five goals to one.

BY THE ODD GOAL.

The spectators at Highbridge Road ground on Saturday witnessed a thrilling football encounter between Wylde Green Juniors and a team from the Princess Alice Orphanage

During the first half the juniors netted twice, and although they tried hard the visitors were unable to open their score.

After the interval the Orphanage pressed hard, and after about 20 minutes their efforts were rewarded. Heartened by this success they pressed still harder, but thanks to the magnificent play of Hemms, the Juniors goalkeeper, were unable to score, thus giving Wylde Green the victory by the odd goal.
